“Terrible Twos”—Don’t Believe the Hype

Our 2′s classroom is designed to address the emerging independent skills exhibited by 2-year-olds. We have two rooms: Little Trains (24 to 30 months) and Little Chicks (30 to 36 months).

The A Beka® curriculum is introduced in our two year old program. Enhanced by hands-on math, science, art, music, cooking, and physical fitness activities, this well-rounded program offers something for each child. Fine motor skills are an important part of the learning process as children are introduced to basic printing. To complete the learning experience of our 2-year-olds, we introduce weekly bible stories and memory verses using the A Beka® curriculum and they attend Chapel weekly. We believe our partnership with you in laying a foundation of faith in your child is one of the most important goals of our program.

Crayon Campus staff in our two-year-old department are also well trained in the arena of potty training! We look forward to working with our families to help their child take steps toward personal independence in this area.

Our 2-year-olds also begin utilizing the school dining room for their snacks and meals thus avoiding messy spills in the classroom.

A low 1 : 8 staff/child ratio is maintained in our Little Trains program and 1:10 in our Little Chicks room. Daily outdoor play is important and age appropriate outdoor playground is provided for their use. An indoor playroom is also available for those days when Texas weather does not allow outdoor play.

We also begin to enrich your child’s preschool experience by introducing regular visits from respected children’s entertainers and performers. Children are delighted by visits from Mother Goose, the Princess Storyteller, Alphie the Elph, Santa, Bernice the Bunny, and many others.
